Cold Heart 05:35
I tried so hard my dear to show that you're my every dream Yet you're afraid each thing I do is just some evil scheme A mem'ry from your lonesome past keeps us so far a-part Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your Cold, Cold Heart. Another love before my time made your heart sad and blue And so my heart is paying now for things I didn't do In anger, unkind words are said that make the teardrops start Why can't I free your doubtful mind, and melt your Cold, Cold Heart. You'll never know how much it hurts to see you sit and cry You know you need and want my love yet you're afraid to try Why do you run and hide from life, to try it just ain't smart Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your Cold, Cold Heart. There was a time when I believed that you belonged to me But now I know your heart is shackled to a memory The more I learn to care for you, the more we drift apart Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your Cold, Cold Heart.

about

Well Howdy folks, If you like your cowboy swing with gypsy flings, then it’s "Yes Sir!" to Slim Dime and the Prairie Kings. These fine purveyors of boppin’ Melbourne countrybilly bring you their second album "Yes Sir", the follow up to their debut album Hillbilly Salad.

A collection of slick, yet ramshackle recordings, representing the bands unique take on the golden era of pre rockabilly, country, rock ‘n’ roll and western swing. Recorded live in vintage splendor by Paulie Bignell at Hailstone Studio, a studio rapidly becoming synonymous with quality retro sounds.

After stints in many other Melbourne bands the group slowly evolved from a three piece in 2011, playing classic hillbilly and country around the Dandenong Ranges into a 5/6 piece with a more elaborate and sophisticated sound incorporating fiddle and pedal steel appearing at festivals, pubs and clubs around Melbourne and Victoria.

With obvious influences from 1930's and 1940's such as Bob Wills, Cliff Bruner and Milton Brown, Slim Dime and the Prairie Kings throw a dose of Honky tonk and Bluegrass via the Delmore Brothers and Hank Williams to create a modern blend of classic sounds. With an energetic live show that feature smokin’ guitar twang, slappin' bass and all guns blazing, Slim Dime and the Prairie Kings are an old time party band with a difference.
